AFTER THUNDERSTORMS MOVED THROUGH NORMAN COUNTY THURSDAY AFTERNOON,, THE NORMAN COUNTY RACEWAY WELCOMED IT'S LARGEST CROWD OF THE SEASON WITH A SUNNY, CLEAR NIGHT AND A WET, TACKY TRACK THAT HELD TOGETHER FOR 73 CARS AND A GREAT NIGHT OF RACING!

THE WEATHER KEPT SOME DRIVERS FROM ATTENDING, HOWEVER, MORE DRIVERS HAVE THEIR CARS READY AND SHOWED UP FOR THE FIRST TIME THIS SEASON. SOME OF THE REGULARS CONTINUED TO FLEX THEIR MUSCLE AND RACE TO VICTORIES.

IN THE NOPA FOUR CYLINDERES, HEAT ONE RESULTS: FIRST DANNY WESTMAN OF GREENBUSH, SECOND SCOTT BECKMAN OF MAHNOMEN, THIRD MARCUS LUNDON OF ULEN.

HEAT TWO RESULTS: FIRST DON BYFUGLIEN, SECOND BRUCE TORKELSON, THIRD ANDY WAGNER.

IN THE FEATURE, DANNY WESTMAN STARTED IN THE POLE POSITION AND NEVER LET THE LEAD SLIP AWAY. WESTMAN WAS CHALLENGED BY DON BYFUGLIEN, SCOTT BECKMAN FINISHED THIRD, MARCUS LUNDON FOURTH AND BRUCE TORKELSON FIFTH.
WESTMAN'S MOTHER INFORMED US AFTER THE FEATURE, DANNY'S SISTER WHO IS IN AFGHANISTAN SERVING OUR COUNTRY PAID FOR THE CAR SO DANNY COULD RACE THIS SEASON. IT WAS WESTMAN'S FIRST APPEARANCE AT THE NORMAN COUNTY RACEWAY AND A NIGHT THAT HE AND HIS FAMILY CAN BE PROUD!!!

IN THE PURESTOCKS, HEAT ONE RESULTS: FIRST PAUL OLSON, SECOND BILL OXTON, THIRD BILL BECKMAN...

HEAT TWO RESULTS: FIRST BRAD LEE, SECOND DEAN LUNDON, THIRD KEN CRANE.

IN THE FEATURE: PAUL OLSON STARTED AND FINISHED IN THE FRONT... KEN CRANE STARTED IN THE FIFTH ROW AND WORKED HIS WAY THROUGH TRAFFIC TO FINISH SECOND. DEAN LUNDON ALSO STARTED NEXT TO CRANE AND FINISHED THIRD. BRAD LEE WAS FOURTH AND BILL OXTON FIFTH.

IN THE MOD FOURS, HEAT ONE RESULTS, FIRST MATT OHNSTAD, SECOND CODY SUNDE, THIRD BRYAN DYRDAHL.
HEAT TWO RESULTS: FIRST MATT GRESETH, SECOND CORRY VANMIL, THIRD SHAYNE LASKE.

IN THE FEATURE, MATT GRESETH STARTED IN THE FIFTH ROW AND AFTER EIGHT LAPS HE PASSED POLE STARTER BRYAN DYRDAHL TO WIN ANOTHER FEATURE AT THE NORMAN COUNTY RACEWAY. CORRY VANMIL RACED HARD TO THE END AND FINISHED SECOND. DYRDAHL WAS THIRD, LANCE JOHNSON FOURTH AND MATT OHNSTAD FIFTH.

IN THE MIDWEST MODS, HEAT ONE RESULTS: FIRST JASON SANDERSON, SECOND TRAVIS SAUER, THIRD GARY SONSTELIE,

HEAT TWO RESULTS, FIRST DANNY STREM, SECOND JASON GRIMES, THIRD ARVID BRODEN.

IN THE FEATURE, JAKE BITKER LED FOR FIVE LAPS AND HELD ON AFTER TWO RE-STARTS BEFORE GETTING LOOSE ON THE FOURTH CORNER ALLOWING JASON GRIMES TO TAKE THE LEAD. GRIMES THEN HIT "BAD LUCK" WITH MOTOR TROUBLES, BY THIS TIME, TRAVIS SAUER WAS IN POSITION TO TAKE THE LEAD, SAUER WOULD HOLD OFF CARL TOLLEFSON, FOLLOWED BY BITKER IN HIS BEST RACE OF THE SEASON TO THIS POINT. FOURTH WAS DANNY STREM AND FIFTH BLAKE BORGEN.

SUPERSTOCK RESULTS, HEAT FIRST KYLE PETERLIN, SECOND STEVE BEACH, THIRD JON YOUNG.

IN THE FEATURE, JON YOUNG HELD THE LEAD FROM HIS POLE POSITION FOR TWELVE LAPS BEFORE CORKY THOMAS TOOK THE LEAD DRIVING ON THE BOTTOM OF TURNS ONE AND TWO.. AFTER THE CARS HAD CROSSED THE START FINISH LINE AND WERE GIVEN THE WHITE FLAG, JON YOUNG AND DUSTIN STRAND GOT INTO EACH OTHER BEFORE THE FIRST CORNER, THE CHECKERED FLAG WENT TO CORKY THOMAS, STRAND WAS SECOND, STEVE BEACH THIRD, KYLE PETERLIN FOURTH AND BRENT PAULSKAMP FIFTH.

IN THE A-MODIFIEDS, HEAT ONE RESULTS: FIRST DEV MALMLOV, SECOND RICKY JACOBSON, THIRD STEVEN PFIEFER.

HEAT TWO RESULTS: FIRST BRIAN STRAND, SECOND CHAD OHNSTAD, THIRD BLAKE JETVIG.

IN THE A-MODIFIEDS FEATURE, DEV MALMLOV LED FOUR TEN LAPS AND WAS CHASED BY BLAKE JETVIG. JETVIG WOULD FINALLY CATCH MALMLOV AND BE THE LEADER ON THE NEXT LAP, THE TWO CARS WERE SIDE BY SIDE GOING OUT OF THE SECOND CORNER, MALMLOV'S FRONT TIRE WOULD CATCH THE REAR TIRE OF JETVIG SENDING MALMLOV THROUGH THE AIR OVER THE TOP OF THE ROLLING JETVIG 2J. THE CRASH HAD THE FANS SILENCED AND OUT OF BREATH--- WITHIN MOMENTS THE TRACK OFFICIALS SAID BOTH DRIVERS WERE UN-INJURED. ON THE RE-START BRIAN STRAND WAS THE NEW LEADER FOR THREE LAPS, ON LAP THIRTEEN AND HELD THE LEAD FOR THE FEATURE WIN. STRAND FINISHED SECOND, THIRD WAS SHANE TENDELAND, FOURTH WAS JAMI TRAUTNER AND FIFTH STEVEN PFEIFER.
